I did some more testing and was able to get mfakto to detect the integrated GPU on a Windows 10 laptop using the -d 11 option, but the program hangs on the first self-test.
Just curious, what drivers do you use? |

On the i7-7500U,
GPU-Z Graphics Card tab gives driver version as 22.20.16.4836/Win10 64 Provider Intel Corporation Driver date Oct 17 2017 Digital Signature WHQL Advanced tab says Platform Version OpenCL 2.1 It's only about 18-20GHD/day. Tuning a discrete gpu can gain more than that. And it's only suitable for TF, not primality testing. On the i7-7500U, it makes the console very unresponsive when running. It also costs about half of prime95 throughput. So I don't often run it on the i7-7500U. Oddly, the i7-8750H has no responsiveness issue though. So I run that UHD630 routinely. Good news and bad news. I was able to get mfakto to run on the integrated GPU on two Windows 10 laptops after updating the Intel drivers. I'm guessing this is due to the new compute runtime for OpenCL released last year: https://mathema.tician.de/the-state-...puting-in-2018
However, mfakto still fails to run on the integrated GPU on my R7 M460 laptop. I've been told this is due to the AMD Radeon driver disabling OpenCL support on Intel integrated graphics. I manually upgraded the Intel drivers, but this must have broken something because both mfakto and clinfo can no longer detect the integrated GPU. Disabling the AMD GPU does not resolve the issue, and neither does this solution: https://geeks3d.com/20181220/how-to-...r-is-installed I've also had no luck getting the self-tests to pass on macOS. I updated my Radeon drivers to the latest version, and now mfakto runs on the integrated GPU in my R7 M460 laptop. However, the -d c option no longer works. It seems like the OpenCL driver disables access to the CPU if it detects the integrated GPU.

TF on a cpu is a waste of capability anyway. Consider it a safety feature. P-1 or primality on cpus are more productive usage.

I will soon have this chip in a Windows laptop. Would anyone be interested in benchmarks from the Iris Xe integrated Intel gpus?
Which GPU programs are easy to setup and use on iGPUs in Windows? Upon reading the last few pages of this thread, it appears mfacto is the first thing to try. Last fiddled with by masser on 2020-11-18 at 01:57 |

Xe benchmarks would be very interesting as an indicator of intel's potential. From what we know mfakto could be quite good and gpuowl may be terrible if the lack of DP is true: https://mersenneforum.org/showpost.p...postcount=2535
Power draw under load would be a bonus if you can measure it. |

I am currently creating a currenttimming list in (.ods) format, which better reflects the performance for gppuowl than mersenne.ca which is better suited for CudaLucas. You can use Linux or Windows-version, the values should only differ by a few percent. The Linux version is around 5% faster. The windows version works without any further installation effort. gpuowl -iters 200000 -prp 77936867 Fastest Windows Version (with Proofs) https://mersenneforum.org/showpost.p...94&postcount=8 Linux binary version Unbuntu 18.04 https://mersenneforum.org/showpost.p...1&postcount=40 Downloadlink for .ods sheet (with no macros) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Tim...l57X_RWO0/view Example of benchmark https://mersenneforum.org/showpost.p...postcount=2602 Last fiddled with by moebius on 2020-11-18 at 10:35 |

It shouldn't be that bad with 0.422 TFLOPs FP64.
