New Job and nearly finished LL test

I've been running Prime95 on my work computer, but I'm getting a new job, and my last day here is on Friday. GIMPS says that I'm going to finish around Sunday, so is there some way to transfer the last little bit of this test to a different computer?

Just copy all the files onto a floppy, CD, flash drive, or something. Then put it on your new computer. If you use a CD, make sure you change all the files back to not being read-only. If you're running the latest version of Prime95, it will automatically detect the change in computer specs and update the server accordingly.

okay .. possible slight hitch. My other computer is a Mac laptop. will this cause any problems?

Take it with you. Tell them you lost it!

Can you keep the computer switched on? If yes, put "NoMoreWork=1" in prime.ini, restart Prime95, make sure it's the only exponent left in worktodo.ini and put a note on the computer telling that it has a job running until sunday. Back up the files anyway, just in case. Include simple instructions on how to remove Prime95 or join GIMPS.

With just a little luck GIMPS will have a new member when your old work computer is passed on to someone else. Or you could ask a cow-orker to remove Prime95 for you on monday.

Or you could just select options "No icon" and "Start at bootup" and leave it on the PC to run for as long as it will!

If you do so, remember to make sure it is not set to Manual Communication and that "Days between sending new end dates" is set to a suitably low level: I would suggest 1, or at least less than 7.
