I set up a new 6-core computer and started running prime95. It started using the same setting as my older computer, only 2 threads. Is there a way to allow it to use more threads?

Then look for the file called local.txt in your working directory. This is usually the same directory where Prime95 itself was installed. In that file, there are a number of lines. Look for the ones that say Code:
WorkerThreads=1 CoresPerTest=2 Then restart Prime95 from the menu ( Test / Continue... ) |

My local.txt only had
ThreadsPerTest=2 but changing 2 to 4 worked fine. Thank you. Last fiddled with by physicist on 2018-01-10 at 17:07 |
