Edit: What I have done so far, downloaded the new-bases-4.3.txt and pfgw. What do I need to change in the txt file and what do I need to run a new base? How can I define all my cpu cores to run with pfgw? What I have done so far: in new-bases-4.3.txt changed to: DIM base, 943 DIM type, 1 DIM min_k, 1 DIM max_k, 50 DIM max_n, 2500 pfgw.out, pl_prime.txt, pl_remain.txt, pl_trivial.txt were created. Test done with new-bases-4.3.txt -f100 -l. If I run a higher n value will this skip the current tests up to 2500? Last fiddled with by rebirther on 2014-10-26 at 10:29 |

Usually, when I start a new base, I run with these settings in the new-bases-4.3.txt, and of course uses the most recent version of PFGW: DIM base, whatever base you test DIM type, 1 (if the base is sierpinski) and -1 (if the base is riesel) DIM min_k, smallest k in reserved range for bases to big to handle by one individual and 1 if the base is suited for a single individual DIM max_k, highest k in reserved range for bases to big to handle by one individual and conjectured k-1 if the base is suited for a single individual DIM max_n, 1000 (This is my default setting for all bases since LLR appears to be 15% faster per test and that does make a huge difference, for n>1000. However there is too much managing of k's remaining and k's primed above n=1000, if you choose a lower n) PFGW is run with the following setting: new-bases-4.3.txt -f30 (if you want to factor 100%, using -f is enough, since default is equal to 100%) Hope this helps out. Otherwise, try and send me a PM and I'll see what I can do to help you :) Regards Kenneth Last fiddled with by KEP on 2014-10-26 at 14:41 Reason: Added commandline in PFGW :) |

I have added links to our BOINC effort (SRBase) in the first posting here. That was long overdue. :-)
