It was the first one for which I needed all the available tries.

I've played 13 rounds so far. I got 6 in 3 tries, 4 in 4 tries, 2 in 5, and 1 in 6. No losses.

I start with a word with two vowels and common letters like: l n r s t.

Then I use a regular expression to search the dictionary and another to filter out words with letters known to be not present. I'll pick a word with letters that occur frequently in the remaining words.

It's not the most efficient algorithm, but it's been effective so far.

Other than using a little help to determine my 3 starter words, I don't use computer assistance. Nominally it has been on the 4th guess (after the 3 initial probe words.) Before using this strategy, I did outright guess the one that started with a Q on the first try.

Grr. After three tries only two candidates remained. I guessed wrong the first time.

Now 2x3, 2x4 and 3x5. None on first two guesses, no outright failures.

Much more enjoyable than the later version.
I required all attempts, but I thought gold was correct position and not green.
