It was a well-intentioned joke talking about Lagrange points.

The second round of the group stage is over, and half of the games of this worldcup have been played. A brief summary:
* Only three teams are already through to the last sixteen: France, Brazil and Portugal * Two teams are already out: Quatar and Canada * After their respective first round losses, Argentina and Germany are "back", Germany mostly because of Japans defeat to Costa Rica, but also because they managed to draw to Spain * Morocco is up to a surprise: If they do not lose to Canada in their last group match they will go to the next round and leave one of Belgium or Croatia behind them Also interesting: In the third round US and Iran will dispute a direct duell in the fight for the last sixteen. Both showed up with good second round matches (Iran beating Wales 2:0, US drawing 0:0 with England, but IMHO they were clearly better) Last fiddled with by Till on 2022-11-28 at 21:26 Reason: typo, remove newlines |

That was a horrible World Cup from Denmark, after the amazing qualification with 9 wins and 1 loss and 30-3 goal difference, and after the great Euro 2021 performance
![]() ![]() Denmark seems to be only good when they are underdogs and no one is expecting anything: - Like World Cup 1986 their first, when they won the group with full points and reached round of 16. - Like Euro 1992 when they won without qualifying because Yugoslavia was disqualified. - Like World Cup 1998 when they reached Quarter Finals and played very good against Brazil. - Like Euro 2021 after Christian Eriksens heart attack and after losing the first 2 matches, they still reached semifinals. I'm not sure if it is really nerves or what the reason is. It really shouldn't be since many of them are playing in big clubs in Europe. |
