I've seen a few looking east-ish. I have my camera connected to the PC taking 15 sec exposures. The meteors are too faint/quick for the camera to pick up. 100 exposures so far.

myself that you would be the most likely to respond. As I write, the World service news is telling me how spectacular the show has been! David |

My son and I went out away from the city lights (Tucson, Arizona) to take pictures; saw some very good ones, but they always seemed to be where we weren't taking pictures. One or two very bright, greenish ones, but no real fireballs. A good display, regardless.

The show was good last night here in Oregon, Aug. 12-13. I saw 265 meteors between 10:30 pm and 5:00 am. Tonight should still be fairly good. The Perseids often produce some fireballs a night or two after the peak. You can see them in any part of the sky, but a true Perseid will come from the direction of Perseus, low in the NNE in the evening, high in the NE by dawn.

My sky has mostly been blocked by some pesky clouds that wouldn't leave the area :(
