Lightbulb RHEL 8 & Nvidia GPU compute

Here are the necessary steps to set things up.

We are starting with a freshly-installed RHEL 8 (8.4) "workstation" system.

Ensure the system is registered and updated:
sudo subscription-manager register
sudo subscription-manager attach
sudo dnf update
sudo reboot
Install the proprietary driver:
sudo subscription-manager repos --enable=rhel-8-for-x86_64-appstream-rpms
sudo subscription-manager repos --enable=rhel-8-for-x86_64-baseos-rpms
sudo subscription-manager repos --enable=codeready-builder-for-rhel-8-x86_64-rpms
sudo dnf config-manager --add-repo=
sudo dnf module install nvidia-driver:latest
sudo reboot
sudo dnf install cuda-11-4
echo 'export PATH=/usr/local/cuda-11.4/bin:$PATH' >> ~/.bashrc
echo 'export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/cuda-11.4/lib64/:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH' >> ~/.bashrc
source ~/.bashrc
The attached files have the necessary directory structures and files needed for gpuowl, mfaktc and msieve.

We will try to keep this guide current as things change.

Attached Files
File Type: gz gpuowl.tar.gz (310.7 KB, 24 views)
File Type: gz mfaktc.tar.gz (773.0 KB, 20 views)
File Type: gz msieve.tar.gz (1.90 MB, 21 views)
