Default what's the point of "Iterations between results file outputs"?

Under the Options > Preferences... window, there is an option to set the number of iterations between results file outputs. I assume this does exactly what it says on the tin: it prints out the entire results.txt file every X iterations. It's set to 999999999 by default, which means it's effectively disabled. But is there any point to having this feature at all?

It just prints your basic status report line (e.g. for me "[Worker #1 Aug 1 13:04:06] Iteration: 1110000 / 26179411 [4.2399%]. Per iteration time: 12.817 ms.") every x iterations. I imagine it would be useful if someone didn't have access to stdout, but then again, if they're setting that option via the GUI menu, then they can clearly see the stdout.

Another potential use might be to use some external script/program to monitor progress, but again, I can't think of a use case...

I used to set it to 1M and could see the progress over the network. Later I use InterimResidues in prime.txt, which is more useful because - guess what - prints the partial residues too.

That would be a use case without stdout.

I also use InterimResidues=1M now, just in case.
