Default setting up wakeon lan attempt 4

Trying to set up WakeonLan on a machine. I consider myself to be
close to the bottom of the leaderboard of computer know how so I'm
hoping I can get some help here.

This page gives some advice :

which I've been following.

I'm caught up with this bit :

shahar@shahar-backup:~$ cat /etc/network/interfaces # This file describes the network interfaces available on your system # and how to activate them. For more information, see interfaces(5). # The loopback network interface auto lo iface lo inet loopback # The primary network interface auto eth0 iface eth0 inet static address netmask gateway up ethtool -s eth0 wol g

because my

file says only

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

Is it obvious what I need to do?
