Default Dwelling-places of the mersenneforumites

I wonder whether the European mersenneforumites are uniformly distributed across the continent, or whether there's some obvious Treffpunkt towards which they could be lured with the prospect of, umm, Bier und Bratwurst or vin de table et cuisses de grenouilles, depending which country the Treffpunkt is in.

I'm in Cambridge,uk, as is xilman.

Not quite in Cambridge, but near enough.

I'm in San Diego next week. I'm sure it's a nice enough town but the processes of getting to SD and coming back again are not particularly welcoming. An 05:07 coach to LHR is the start of the journey. There are no credible direct flights to SAN as far as I know so I transfer at BOS on the way out and ORD on the way back.

The meeting I'm attending doesn't allow for much free time but I don't know anyone in SD so there's no burning urgency to arrange a pub crawl.

Ooh, that must be pretty noisy Flatlander.

I'm at the top of Manchester, UK, just outside the M60.

Uppsala, Sweden.

(Except right now when I'm visiting my parents just outside Skellefteå, in northern Sweden.)

Actually, it's pretty quiet. Before living here we lived in Horley for 18 months. (Almost under the flight path.) The noise and stink of the airport was unbearable, even at night. The dog would start sneezing every time we took her out. Here, the owls are louder at night than the planes! We are right at the edge of Crawley, next to woods and fields. We've been here 8 years and I've only smelt fumes three times.
It doesn't feel like a major town next to an airport at all.
