Default Expected completion dates

Any idea why Prime95 now severely underestimates the time for my computer to complete its assigned work? It used to know that the range from 2^68 to 2^69 would take about a week and a half. For several weeks now, it expects that to get done in three days. (Such an expectation would be unreasonable even if I had my comptuer on all the time, which I don't.)

Not that this seems very important.

About how long had you been doing TF assignments before the time estimates changed?

Some guesses:

Did you happen to change your entry for hours-per-day that your system would be testing?

What was the approximate size of the exponents you were testing before and after the time estimate shortened? (TF time for any fixed power-of-two range varies inversely with the size of the exponent. That is, a 100M exponent will take one-fifth as long to TF from 2^68 to 2^69 as a 20M exponent takes to TF for the same range 2^68 to 2^69.)

Did you doublecheck that the TF range was the same 2^68 to 2^69 in both cases?

Was there any change to your system outside Prime95?

Previously, I had had several ranges of the same length, as well as shorter ones.

Nope. Same old system. Or maybe it's because I cleaned up my disk - perhaps it deleted some temporary files.

Perhaps your system/cpu gets too warm so it is clocking down.
