Is P.I.E.S. still closed to some users?

For those familiar with this project, I am not interested in a political discussion, it's just that I live in one of the countries that either did or still does offend him, and I was wondering whether or not I should bother to request permission to participate?

I can too, but that doesn't necessarily mean we're allowed to participate. I know he frequents these forums, but I don't know anything about his temperament.

What I do know is (1) I'll be running a Linux box in a month or two(which his project desires), and (2) The idea of studying primes, instead of simply finding them, seems like a unique idea among the prime projects.

I wrote some stuff and then deleted it(I hate being flamed or starting a flame war). Suffice it to say, I have opinions about the war that have nothing to do with public policy or oil or politics, and everything to do with my Christian morals. There are aspects of the war I like, and there are aspects of the war I hate, my opinion depends on what facet of the war I'm looking at.

It is very possible I totally agree with Mr. Phil(or whatever his last name) on the war and we simply have different ways of looking at it.

Honestly, though, if the claims he makes on his site are true, he should be selling 10,000,000 digit tests at $10 a pop, if you want my opinion. His method has something to do with triangles, you see "Phi", and maybe some other stuff a lot when you look at his math. I'm hoping to learn more, especially since his goal is to study primes rather than to simply brute force find them. Who knows, he may discover the formula that can generate an infinite number of primes.

Head over to the PIES Project group in Yahoo. You can d/l source and builds from there.

BTW, I'm from the U.S. and Phil has not blocked me from his project. I don't believe that I have told him my stance on the war or put up a web page to that effect. If he desires to know my stance, all he has to do is ask.

The "block" was based on IP, so it may be that your IP wasn't recognized as being from the US or the other blocked countries.
