This sounds like a declaration of war.

Ah, things are becoming very slightly clearer now. I was misled by your poor grasp of English grammar and it begins to appear that Bob's analysis may be more accurate than I had previously accepted.

In the form of English with which I am familiar, the verb "to supervise"requires that an active participant partake of the supervision. A person or group of people, or even an animal, may supervise but an intellectual construct can not actively participate in that role.

I suggest that you meant to say something along the lines of: "I believe further contributions to this sub-forum wil violate my rights granted to me under the US constitution".

That formulation is just as ridiculously pompous as your original, but at least it has the benefit of clarity.

Perhaps, he meant the document is being supervised by God.

Shane, in between managing your "large underground networks" (complete with their very own Yahoo mailing list with, when I last checked, three active members, at least two of whom were you) and preparing your personal vendettas, I suggest you go and seek medical treatment. Whatever it is you're suffering from seems to be a pretty advanced case by now, but there is still hope for betterment.

I guess it's time to move www.15k.org to a webserver located outside the USA... (If I update the main page, will I be in trouble?)

Back to the shadows...

There is also a significant likelyhood that he has already licensed his copyright by his own actions.

But if Shane is claiming ONLY the rights granted BY the Constitution, I won't worry. He obviously knows little, or more likely nothing, about Constitutional Law.

We're talking about TTn here. I don't think he needs to be explicitly put into AOL mode.

Postings in a public forum that has a private ownership grants the owner broad ranging rights to use the content posted.
Based upon that, I think that Xyzzy could do all sorts of fun things with TTn's postings and data that have become part of this forum.

Can I be made enemy number 13? Please, please. You could make Davar enemy number 55.

BTW, TTn can't stop anyone from continuing the project without him. The results data, once posted have no real copyright. Once posted they are only a statement of mathematical truth. Then, those facts can be used by anyone else. If TTn is talking about his rights as a software author, I would like to see a copy of his EULA or equivalent.

You will find a bit more about copyright here:
http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=3612

Even so, I am not sure I understand why there is a discussion in this thread. Someone who is plainly disturbed has made an ambit demand which the authority he cites would not warrant. By responding you are giving it a specious legitimacy.

If there is substance to what TTn says and if he is genuinely serious about it, you'll hear soon enough from someone who is able to put the claim in proper form. In the mean time, why clothe the Emperor?

It may not be as easy as that:

Just the same, don't assume there is a problem just because TTn says so.
