Hi Emily - I never subscribe to threads anymore, so didn't notice your query here until just now. David (the 21164) was similarly shipped off for parts-resale not long after Nige's demise. And I never owned a machine fitting the "in between the other two" hardware description. But I would have named it Derek, had I had such a machine.

Sorry, no pics of the 21164 - but there are stock photos of such systems on the web, I'm sure.

Not sure how any watts Nigel drew, but I would guess in the 500W range. Basically, think of a really big 90s-era Sparc or SGI workstation as being a '10', and Nigel would be an 11, that is 'one louder' in every respect.

While I'm a bit sad that the band broke up, I must say my home-office is a lot less cramped and much quieter these days. And I still write lots of 64-bit code, just now on my little MacBook.

So, how is the spring weather in Athens this year?

Not Peter James Bond? You know, dozens of people servers spontaneously combust each year. It's just not really widely reported.

Nigel left a little green globule - it was really more of a stain - on the rug in the corner where he had resided. I'm not sure if that was from some fatal bit of internal spontaneous combustion, or incontinence resulting from old age. Poor fellow. Best we not discuss it ... don't even look that way, or think of it.

Bond’s death was particularly traumatic because he owed me money.
