Ah, right. I should note that we actually have two VNC services running on your machines. One, from the "start VNC" thing - which is a "second desktop session" alongside the main console. The other one is built into Ubuntu, and gives direct access to the main console. That's the one I typically use, since I need console access to fiddle with servers that you've started from there. (Whenever you've looked at the screen to see me moving the mouse around, that's what I was using.)
The script I gave you is only set up to access the "start VNC" version. If you want it to access the "console" version, change port 5901 to 5900 where it's referred to in the script. I'm sure we had some good reason at the time for needing the separate "start VNC" versions, but at this point I can't think of it. ![]() If you're not sure which version you're using now, look in the script and see if there are references to "5900" or "5901". If it's 5900, you're using the console version, and you actually don't need to run the "start VNC" thing any more. If you see 5901, you're using the "start VNC" version. Confused yet? ![]() (P.S.: I'm going out of town myself tomorrow morning and will be back late on the 24th. I will not have access to email or the forums during this time.) |

Due to a lack of interest in the now outdated LLRnet, NPLB is going to be doing away with its final LLRnet server on port 3500. We will cutoff the 17k maxi drive in that port at n=1.61M.
Within the next 3-4 days, we will load n=1.61M-2M for the 17k maxi drive as well as the abandoned n=1.3M-2M for single k=309 (18 k's total) into our PRPnet port 1468. It will hand out pairs after the current 8k drive is complete to n=2M. |

I've inserted many history data for all 300<k<400 in the Wiki. The overview table shows all current primes found and reservations with n-ranges done.
Included so far: - all Top5000 primes with link to the ID of C. Caldwell's data - all posts of "Individual-k reservations k=300-400 n=1M-3M" - all posts of "Individual-k reservations k=300-400 n=600K-1M" - posts with 300<k<400 "Report top-5000 primes for all k<=1001" - some pages created for NPLB drives, but only with small data Example k=333 - Using the multireservation it's easy to edit date/n-range: only one edit and all marked k-values are shown correctly in the detail page or table. - A history link shows a post in this forum where the info is obtained. - Find dates of Top5000 primes are always taken from there, not the posted. - Links to drives or persons (if available) are shown. - Notes contain special comments to any n-value. Please do not delete any posts (like in 2008), because the links in the Wiki won't work anymore. If anyone find an error in those Wiki pages please PM me, to avoid unnecessary posts in this forum. Next: - data for 400<k<1002 (will take much more time to compile) - more threads of this forum for NPLB - more pages/data of other team drives and small primes |

The range 400<k<600 is online, too. The link to the table is the same.
Included data like last time: Top5000, Drive 13, posts "Report top-5000 primes for all k<=1001" for this k-range Next task: k-values of Drive 14: 600<k<1002. This will take more time to complete. |

The range 600<k<800 is in the Wiki now.
Data like the other ranges. Next: 800<k<1002 |

The range 800<k<=1001 is in the Wiki, too.
So the whole data of all k-value from Drives 13 and 14 of NPLB with history is available. Pages with more data like on my old pages for the drives have to be done later. |

Due to PrimeGrid's "Tour de Primes" for all of the month of February they are finding a tremendous number of top-5000 primes. (~15-20 per day!) For that reason our leading edge for the 14th drive (k=600-1001) is in danger of falling out of top-5000 range. It is currently around 4920th place.
I have moved all of my machines to our PRPnet sever port 2000 through around the middle of March. (I hope to move our leading edge up the list a few hundred places after the Tour is done.) Since I did that we are barely treading water with the leading edge vs. the top-5000 prime level. By my calculation we are advancing at n=1100-1200 per day while the 5000th prime is advancing at nearly the same rate. If anyone has some spare machines that they could move over to our PRPnet port 2000 for at least the next 2 weeks it would be greatly appreciated. The only request that we have is if you find a prime you will need to report it quickly to the top-5000 site, i.e. within a day or so. For reference: Here is our server info.: server=G2000:100:1:192.168.0.110:2000 Thank you. Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2021-02-15 at 03:12 |
