So it looks most likely I will be within 5 km of Glendo, Wyoming for the eclipse. There are already 1000s there on Sunday. The town of 205 are expecting 50,000 to 100,000 visitors. Saw many people on the road up to the path of totality.

I'm on a collection of rocks at "Garden of the Gods" in Shawnee National Forest, around 40 miles east of maximum duration. 100s of people here, possibly 1000s

We are at the rest area at exit 110 on I-55 in Missouri. There are a lot more people here than we expected. The sky is clear and it is really hot. Fortunately we secured a place to sit under a pavilion.

Doesn't look like I'm likely to see the eclipse. It's 100% cloud cover over here in Cambridge.

Very sunny here in Los Angeles. We get 70% occlusion. I held up my interlaced fingers and a colander and also walked down the street looking at crescents in dappled tree shadows. I expected the day to look gloomy but I wouldn't know that anything is going on without knowing to look for signs.

I well remember the corresponding eclipse of a Saros cycle ago. About 98% in Cambridge, thin cloud over much of the sky but not enough to hide a very thin solar crescent. |
