This can happen when you report results only once a week (or even every 2nd week) AND have a highly variing firepower. Actually most of the 66THz-days of work was done within 80 hours. My firepower usually changes from zero to hero and back to something inbetween.

Chris knowed my peak before it happened because I've asked him how many assignment GPUto72 has. In the past (several years ago) there were sometimes problems when you tried to receive "much more than usual" assignments in a short period. GPUto72 easily provided my the assignments, I'm very happy about this. But submitting the results (I've put all ~6800 result lines into a single file) with the submission spider wasn't a funny task. I've split the result file into several smaller files (100 lines per file) and used the submit spider. There were several "not submitted complete"-files after the first run. With the submit spider I can easily script this but it still took (IIRC) 5 hours to submit...

I don't think he exagerates for effect.
He does his best to be modest.

Reached 160 TFLOPS sustained over the last 30 days, today.

Can someone explain the productivity spikes? 72 hours ago (some time around Monday afternoon for me anyway) there was a spike of nearly 300 TFLOP/s.

I don't have access to Primenet nor its raw data, so I can't say for sure. But at around that time Oliver returned quite a bit of TF and P-1 work.

High correlation.

Here's something.

I wish I had even half of his power.

Holy...

I'd like to see what kind of hardware he's running.

If GIMPS is still running strong in five or ten years I know I'll be upping the hardware. Once I stop paying to work my ass off (i.e. being a student) and start getting paid to work my ass off (i.e. being a Professional Engineer). Lol. Well to be fair my parents contributions to my RESP's carried me through till third year and they're graciously paying for the last... Still.

EDIT: If Nvidia made some new double-precision friendly cards around that time, I'd be thrilled!

That's just normal whenever someone submits reports for a large amount of work in one big batch.

170 TFLOPS (171, in fact) sustained for the last 30 days.
