Way back in my physics teaching days, we used to do
an experiment with an expendable iron tube.

We filled it with water, sealed it with a well-fitting screw,
froze the fucker and eventually saw what happened.

two tubes in a box. Candle lit under one of them.
Hot air rises.
To prove that dragged air down the other tube, a source
of smoke was required....
