So when are you going to help RPS instead of posting? You are very active on the forum but not on finding some RPS primes.

That's the problem, you talk too much. When you get the time bring your cpu power to RPS. More action, less talking.

I don't see how this is greedy, Carlos. Things like the Riesel problem are best suited to large groups of machines/testers, right up PrimeGrid's alley. What seems a waste is to pool 1000 machines to find regular old primes, riesel or otherwise- in this light, I applaud their move into Riesel sieving.
k=3 above 5M is also a good idea, compared to reserving say a 2000-k wide block and brute force testing to 1M. Spectacular success should be a goal for such a large and powerful project- and also happens to crowd us out less to make top 5000. -Curtis |

I just noticed that I've got credit for the currently largest known prime in arithmetic progression:
103939*2^514230-11347*2^508209-1 (154804 digits) found about one week ago by David Broadhurst. This is quite nice, since all I've done was just finding 11347*2^508209-1 in June last year as part of our 10th drive... ![]() The other prime 103939*2^514229-1 was found by Lei Zhou in Nov 2007. |
