Concerning the MISFIT/GPU72 work fetch interaction:
What about changing the current GPU72 "What makes sense" to "What makes sense with above choices" and adding "What most benefits GIMPS (ignoring above choices)"? That would be understandable to human users and allow the MISFIT interface to select the non-human choice. Chuck |

Hey Chuck.
Great minds think alike... ![]() I thought Scott's suggestion of adding "UDECIDE" to the User Agent string for MISFIT requests to be an elegant solution. Unfortunately, he's now backed away from implementing that. I'll now have to implement a "Let GPU72 decide" option (#5) to the form, which will involve Javascript code changes to update and then ghost out the ranges and pledge level when a human selects that. I had hoped to avoid this, since "What Makes Sense" and "Let GPU72 decide" are really the same thing since whenever a human accesses the form the default settings are already there. Unless, of course, the human changes the defaults and then selects "Let GPU72 decide". Oh well... We work with what we have.... Quote:

For MISFIT users, the option number is "9" (5 was already in use on the DCTF form for "No P-1 done"). I assume (don't know) that you can change the value in your config file until Scott has time to add this to the GUI. |

This was a silly thing to do, but I found after selecting the "Let GPU72 decide" option, then hilighting any of the ghosted-out digits, Internet Explorer somehow locks up and I can't click on any other field or tabs until I un-hilight the digits.

I have experimented with these other browsers but the fonts and text sizes just don't look right to me after years of looking at IE. I don't have any significant problems so I really don't want to change.
