Was anyone able to get their hands on a 5950x or a 5900x?
Thinking about upgrading from a 3950x, I was able to run it at -0.0625v offset w/o errors, stays around 65C running all 16 cores PRP with only a 240mm AIO. Pretty amazing considering our 10700K hits 85C easily on a 280mm. Last fiddled with by dcheuk on 2020-11-24 at 21:33 |

We got a new Z490-I motherboard from warranty so we will have a proper dual-rank i5-10600K msieve benchmark soon.

We are currently testing this thermal pad. So far it works great! The 40mm size is just slightly larger than the heat spreader so we just used it as is. Temps are normal. We also looked at the "Carbonaut" pad but it is thinner and more fragile.
We need to find a supplier for this $1 pad! |

I tried the IC pad on Zen 2 (don't recall if I tried it on Intel). I found it slightly worse than a good paste like MX-4 or Kryonaut. For a long term installation I'd still go paste. Pad seems more interesting for short term test builds or if you change configuration a lot for whatever reason, where it saves you doing the cleaning each time.
