Old server: A8i HDD, Atom C2750, 8GB DDR3, 2x Seagate 250GB HDD.
Their current equivalent has the same CPU but SSD, and for $15/mo cheaper than my apparently-locked-in price.
New server: VPS XXL, Xeon Gold 5120, 12GB DDR4, 250GB SSD.
They offer VPS configurations with more RAM and CPU cores, but nothing (in the VPS line) with more SSD storage. I'm hoping that by the time the database grows and I do need more storage they'll offer something.

mysql Ver 15.1 Distrib 10.3.17-MariaDB, for Linux (x86_64) using readline 5.1
Note that while the IOPS dropped to near-zero during the "known_factors" inserts, the SSD kept filling at a fairly consistent MB/s, always CPU-limited (doing whatever index creation I guess).
It's entirely possible that my databases are badly constructed, just cause I maintain hundreds of millions of records doesn't mean I actually know what I'm doing.

Here from Denmark it is still not working in any browser, and I did "ipconfig /flushdns". I assume 74.208.111.38 is the ip of the old server?
I assume DNS has not updated yet. What is the ip of the new server?

Looks like some DNS servers are still hanging on to the old address (74.208.111.38) vs. new (198.251.72.75).

That's correct. DNS is a great system when it works, but sometimes having so many levels of caching (starting right from browser, OS, router, ISP, upstream, et al) can cause grief for a lot longer than it should.

Incidentally, Chrome on my own computer is still refusing to show the site properly, I'm still getting a weird Apache test page that I can't explain, despite a reboot. Wrong IP or not, I shouldn't be seeing that page. And I don't see that page in Chrome on other computers here, or in other browsers on this computer.

Did you try in incognito mode? Sometimes does wonders to these type of "sticky" problems.
