Here is a song called "Prime After Prime". It is a way to recall the first 15 prime numbers. It is sung to the tune of "Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper.
2, 3, 5, 7, 11, and 13. Prime after prime. 17, 19, and 23. Prime after prime. 29, 31, and 37. Prime after prime. 41, 43, and 47. Prime after prime. |

She goes like this. 819,250,973 ... 819,250,997 ... 819,251,011 ... A couple of minutes or so she goes. 819,751,043 ... 819,751,061 ... 819,751,099 ... Yes, I checked. They are indeed consecutive primes.... |

That is the information I never needed to know, but I appreciate it now that I know it.

https://www.mersenne.org/report_expo...9751099&full=1 The first four corresponding Mersennes have known factors; the last two are NF to 73 bits each. Overall that's consistent with finding factors for ~2/3 as usual. |

Compare. Syllable counts per line are:
in post 1 lyrics 11 4 9 (sev en teen nine teen and twen ty three) 4 11 4 11 4 In Lauper's refrain https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/cynd...aftertime.html 11 4 11 4 11 4 11 4 I don't see a mnemonic benefit, nor the need for one. (Do the digits map to the musical notes somehow?) Mentally sieving such small values is fast and more reliable than memorization. Last fiddled with by kriesel on 2022-06-03 at 20:55 |

If you want to create a song (even if it is Girl You know it’s True by Mili Vanilli) that serves as a mnemonic for the first 15 mersenne exponents be my guest. Check https://oeis.org/A000043
For the first 15 primes. (known since the at least the 7th century BC) I suggest this. number 2 plus the next 14 odd numbers that are not divided by 3 and/or 5 https://oeis.org/A000040 Last fiddled with by rudy235 on 2022-06-05 at 01:48 Reason: 14 |
