Hi. I want to help gimps and feel comfortable with my cpu. I'm right now doing prp first time checks. Have done some DC and a few LL. I also have my gpu doing TF.

Do you have any rules for doing TC? I have 11 confirmed DC, 4 LL and 1 prp. It will take about 4 days in 47M range and a week in 90M range. Is that to slow?

How do I take assignment? Is it just to take from the thread and write what I'm about to do in that thread or do I need to get approved and get access to the locked thread for triple checks?

/Arvid

Not too slow, and glad to have the help. The more TC or DC the better, as there's a considerable DC backlog.

Claim some at https://www.mersenneforum.org/showth...t=24152&page=9 and make sure they are reserved to you as uncwilly described.

You just need to grab the exponents from this thread:
https://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=24148

Post your claim in that same thread.

Then go through the process to register them with PrimeNet. (See the top post for how to with Prime95. For GPU's you can do that and once you get the assignment ID's, cut and paste into the worktodo for the GPU.) If you don't get an assignment ID, it is most likely that the exponent is taken.

Then, run them like any other exponent.

About once a day I check the thread for new claims. I spot check that the assignments did get issued. Then I update the lists and move the posts to the locked thread. The locked thread is just a filing cabinet for past posts. Only mods can put things into it.

Everything helps. Welcome to the crew.

Thanx for answers. I'm on it now and will do some TC to help with catching up.

I think this is more fun than hunting for next MP. I have seen this thread when I stared helping gimps a few month ago but I wanted to know that my cpu didn't get any errors. And as I wrote, I'm now confidant that my cpu is good.

Humour is somewhat subjective. The overload of smilies and the picture were intended as such. I was careful not to be insulting in the text.
