What is "Marin's Mersenne-aries"? The "Marin's Mersenne-aries" factoring project was mostly for people interested in P-1 factoring in the time before Primenet v5 came out, back in the dark ages when P-1 was not a selectable worktype. Now that it is, there is little purpose for this forum; if you want to do P-1 factoring, simply select that as your preferred worktype.
There is quite a bit a effort going in through GIMPS to factoring the lower(p<~3M?) through ecm. However, there are a lot of low exponents that are listed as having p-1 done on them to very low bounds or with no B2. Would "Marin's Mersenne-aries" like to help GIMPS factor low exponents by extending these p-1 bounds and doing a proper stage 2?The bounds may have been reasonable for LL testing but they could quite probably save some ecm time by being improved. Also today's amount of memory might help efficientcy.

Examples(they get worse further down):

Since there is a shortage of P-1 workers for the current range of GIMPS I do not think it a good idea to spend a lot of processing power to P-1 factor those exponents, unless it is done with low memory machines (less than 200 MB available for P-1)
