I've completed my goals for this season (top 100 in each work type) and I don't want to cool these hot machines though the summer months at my house.
What do people recommend as the best method for doing a temporary shutdown of all work without inadvertently holding onto any assignments? TIA, Vidmar |

The way that worked best for me was to go to "Options->Preferences" and set "Days of work to queue up:" to 0. This way, you can still be part of Primenet/Prime95/GIMPS, but you won't automatically be given work to do.

exit Prime95. go to prime.txt and add the line
NoMoreWork=1 Then start Prime95 and when you finish the ones you have (or unreserve them) you won't get any more assignments. Last fiddled with by CADavis on 2009-05-17 at 03:27 |

Seems a shame to lose a whole summer of work...
How about slowing the machines to the point they do not need cooling? From undoc.txt: Quote:

You can also add MaxExponents=0 to prime.txt, when worktodo.txt is empty, it won't get more work.
