Default Funny Pictures and Khan Academy

This post is more for Funny Pictures thread, but there the messages get deleted periodically (keeping only the pictures), and I kinda want to keep this...

That is my main reason why I got really upset with Khan Academy... They do not offer a "khan defragmenter" or equivalent tool in the menus...

[this is real, my actual status, I didn't login for years, and just today I logged in and did some quizzes, I found out that, for some reasons, my status decreased a lot, to almost half - in fact the reason is clearly explained, if one clicks on the link which is gray (sign that I clicked it) - they added lots of new lessons, and they deprecated old stuff, making it nicer and better. But seeing that picture, which reminds me of the good old days of Norton Utilities, I could not stop myself, hehe ]

Nice! Of course, it would be even better if they were telling people about mathematics that they used to know but have now forgotten...

Yeah, well.. hehe, the evaluation tool is not so clever, it knows that you watched this video, or did this quiz, but that's it. And this is quite normal. If somebody replaces one lesson or quiz with another one (or one with many, if some subject is detailed), which debate the same stuff, your blue square is gone, because the tool is only checking if you did this particular lesson or quiz which is new (and you didn't), it has no deep knowledge of the fact that the new lessons/quizzes are about the same subject. So, you need to take the quizzes again.

But this is fun, and most of them are kindergarten levels (counting, etc), so it is a better way to waste the time than watching funny cats and dogs on youtube.

My "argument" was just related of the "detailed progress" diagram itself (or "skill breakdown" as they call it), which looks like fragmented hdd, and my first impulse when I saw it was to to run "disk defragmenter" on it. New guys here do not remember the old NU, where the DD interface was looking exactly the same (the "new" DD in windoze is drawing lines, losing the detailed info, the old one was showing each sector like a colored square, according with the type of the info/file stored there).

For some reason, this looked to me very funny (and it still looks funny ). I am not upset with them. That was the cherry on the joke, and in fact I will try to find few minutes every day to go there and "repair" the missing blue dots.

edit: And because I didn't put a link: https://www.khanacademy.org/mission/math
(I know Xyzzy had a thread somewhere too).

If you are nostalgic for the old Norton defragger, check out the free Ultrdefrag.

But I think if you have an SSD then defragmenters are hardly beneficial and may actually shorten the life of your drive.

Now, that's interesting... we have to check that out.

The move may be old from some other people, as it appeared 3 months ago, but it is news for me. Well, I did log in to KA in this time, occasionally, and "defragment" my tree here and there, but I didn't really pay attention to the note on the screen, until it became a bit more persistent and I clicked it.
As said, we have to check it out. We are very curious how and what they improved...
