Wink Insomnia & Maths

I often find that insomnia is maths-friendly;I get inspiration when I lie
at times sleepless. Is this experience a common one?Views of members

I found that my insomnia is "due" to math: when I have a problem to solve, I just can't sleep

Well, for me learning and thinking about hard problems works best if i buff up with about 200mg 1,3,7-trimethylxanthin first and then apply loud music to my ears with a headphone.

Considering this, "Insomnia" by Faithless is one hell of a brain-booster ;)

On the contrary I work out solutions in my dreams and have the answers when I wake up. So it works both ways

Try Yoga and TM (transcendental Meditation). Also Chanting the bija mantras helps.

Given that 971 is prime, we know that all its factors are of the form 1942k+1 so the first steps are to evaluate this series for k = 1, 2, 3 ... and check to see which are prime.

I haven't yet tried it, but I suspect that I'd fall asleep quite rapidly just working out the few potential primes ...

Don't harsh my mellow... :)
Yeah I know that, that's what I get for trying to make a math joke in this forum.
