Well yes, I see that on another forum I frequent too, and we don't allow posts that are plainly someones homework. However, in this case it seems reasonably certain that this isn't a homework assignment.

Except that implementing RSA from some cookbook explanation
does NOT show that you understand "what it is about". If you understand
it as you claim, for example, then you can explain why padding is necessary
(just as an example). From your limited knowledge of modular arithmetic,
it is almost certain that you do not understand why padding is needed.

You can't understand this subject without learning the basic,
underlying mathematics.

But it is clear that the O.P. is NOT "trying to learn". If he were, he
would get some books on the subject, read them, and do the exercizes.

At the very least at short search with Google would have answered his
questions. What appears to me is that he just wants answers handed to him.

On the other hand, he might just enjoy the pleasure
of conversation. Ask a sensible question and listen to

In the meantime, please do me the courtesy of allowing me to make my own decisions on when, and when not, to be helpful. If you read my past history on this forum you will come across many examples of when my decision has gone each way.

Bob's advice was clearly aimed at the general case, not the specific instance exemplified by this thread.

As you have noted, on this particular occasion I was not helpful. Whether Bob noticed that or not remains to be seen.

(Actually, I did contribute to this thread, so you've not been paying attention. My contribution was to the effect that contributors may be helpful because they enjoy being helpful.)
