I started double checking an exponent on one PC and moved the files to a new PC. The job completed and the result was transmitted to primenet. However, I still it reported as completed at 10 % only. Other exponents have been reported correctly in the meantime. How do I get credit for this double checked exponent ?

This has happened a few times for me. You will have to email George Woltman (woltman at alum dot mit dot edu) and explain that the result didn't make it to the server. Also send him (the relevant part of) the results.txt so that he can update the database manually.
There are also some manual pages to report results. When this happened to me they were broken. Does anyone else know if they can be used and if they would give Daffy Primenet credit for the work? Last fiddled with by patrik on 2007-10-01 at 16:37 Reason: Corrected email address |

The "Manual Test Results Check-In" section on http://mersenne.org/ips/manualtests.html
I don't know any other web page for reporting results. Quote:

About a week or so ago I grabbed four factoring assignments through the manual check-out page (under Team StarQwest, with a computer ID of Anonymous). I just finished crunching the first one today (with no factor to 2^68), and I submitted it to the manual check-in page. Yet it still shows up on the StarQwest user report page:
Code:
46860949 F 63 5.2 -5.2 54.8 06-Feb-08 19:04 Anonymous 0 v16 46861043 F 63 5.2 -5.2 54.8 06-Feb-08 19:04 Anonymous 0 v16 46861079 F 63 5.2 -5.2 54.8 06-Feb-08 19:04 Anonymous 0 v16 46861127 F 63 5.2 -5.2 54.8 06-Feb-08 19:05 Anonymous 0 v16 Will this clear itself up? Or has something truly gone wrong? I tried re-submitting the result on the manual check-in page, but it just sat there after I pressed the submit button. Even after the next hourly update, it still didn't show up, so I was quite confused, needless to say. ![]() I'm using mprime version 24.14, in case that helps (though I'm guessing it probably won't, since I'm using the manual submission form). ![]() Edit: I checked nofactor.zip, and M46860949 is only listed as no factor up to 2^63 (its previous factoring depth). (And yes, the stats did have a chance to do their hourly update before I downloaded nofactor.zip.) Last fiddled with by mdettweiler on 2008-02-12 at 00:01 |

As for the use of the manual check-in/out pages, I am not quite sure how they work, as I´ve never used them. But I thing that, as you are updating the server directly, the result should be taken into account in the next hourly update, so something is definitely wrong. Try to email GW about the problem, and send him the result |

I finished the second one (46861043--no factor to 2^68) of the exponents that I'd reserved, and submitted it using the manual check in page--same result.
![]() I think I'm going to go email George about this now... Last fiddled with by mdettweiler on 2008-02-13 at 05:14 |
