I can't remember where (maybe it was PrimeMonster's web site), but I heard that Athlon processors are better equipped for trial-factoring than are Pentiums. Does anyone know about this?

It depends on the bit depth. 63 bits and less is handled better by AMD, for 64 bits and above the SSE2 code kicks in, making the P4 by far the fastest box. You guys are doing the low bit ranges - don't buy P4's.
