We received the second shingles vaccination a few weeks ago.
Both that shot and the first one caused the injection site to become surprisingly sore. ![]() |

My vaccine doses 1 and 2 were Moderna, then I decided to mix-and-match with a Pfizer booster in September.
None of the three produced any noticeable side effects for me other than a sore arm. |

Yesterday, I asked my doctor for a booster shot of the Janssen vaccine. The German government allows everyone who received a dose of Janssen at least four weeks ago to get an mRNA vaccine as a booster. At the edge of our vaccine campaign stagnating, the government promises spontaneous vaccinations for everyone who wants their first shot. When I asked for the booster shot, I was told that I would have to stay behind the ones which would get their first one, which is of course fully understandable. But I was irritated to hear that they cannot process all first/initial shots until December! I will happily wait until it is my turn, but this does not sound at all like there is really enough vaccine.

Unfortunately that is short sighted. In your final days you use up a lot of vital resources. For example, an employee of my employer (in a completely different branch of the organizational tree) took 45 days to die from COVID once they were put on a ventilator. That 45 days of ventilator time could have helped 9 people who only needed it for 5 days each. And all that time they were taking up an ICU bed too. And burning up the staff time is a big issue. Once COVID is "over", expect an exodus of nurses (and Dr's etc) that are sticking it out out of a sense of duty (they are needed to save lives now). 'We' don't profit from this.

Still waiting for my government to give green light for booster shots for younger people like me (mid 20s). If so it will be around February 2022.

I booked mine yesterday. It is scheduled for 1st December. Presumably I should wait until then before voting.

I received the Pfizer booster shot on 11/16/2021, so around 7 months after my initial J&J dose. Glad the fever went on only for a bit longer than 1 day.

On Friday, I got my booster shot with BioNTech-Pfizer. I got Janssen the first time; symptoms of the vaccination were now much milder than with Janssen. Only very mild fevering and a sore arm. I can still feel my musculus deltoideus being somewhat "different" than usual, but nothing what would remotely concern me.

I got Moderna. I could have gotten it Monday last week, but didn't, for logistical reasons.
