Just for drill I have started a fresh factoring run on the number from the bottom up to an absurdly high level. Can a P1 monster machine be thrown at it too? If they do hide the expo, and you are a known forum goodbody, I can PM it to you.

So the server essentially failed to notify you that a new prime was found?
Edit: I should say "potentially" found Last fiddled with by Primeinator on 20090605 at 00:20

I don't think masking out possible found primes on the server is a good idea ... Last fiddled with by joblack on 20090605 at 00:23

i'll do P1 (just because nobody else is, i have a relatively slow computer...). i'll assume factored to 2^70 (even though it hasn't, uncwilly probably will get that far at least)

ok I was forced to use Pminus1= since Pfactor kept setting bound1 to something too low (below 715000)
so I'm using bounds B1=715001,B2=12000000 Last fiddled with by starrynte on 20090605 at 00:34

I know there will be those that will say that LL with a zero error code is unbreakable. But, I think that given that GW doesn't have the last few iterations to test and a factor could solve it, I think that a hard look at any candidate is in fine.

If it checks out, this will be just one more indication that we have hit the motherlode of Mersenne primes. The last seven have been clustered unprecedentedly close, so extending the streak to eight would be even more amazing!
