I deliberately started my blog here, so as not to create new topics in general threads.
I play strictly according to the rules of the forum creator and do not break any rules. Why would someone dare to deprive me of the opportunity promised by the creator of the forum? Why is someone staying hidden misrepresenting the titles of my messages here and making it impossible for me to get them back? It seems to me that this man has only one step left to come to my house and rummage through my things and toss me something. |

Just as the other forum members you are graciously granted the possibility to read and even write posts, in practice the only condition is to respect the other members and the atmosphere of the forum. Some members have a lot of responsibility : they have moderator privilege and keep the forum free of trolls, advertisers, scammers and sometimes they have to act because of unwanted behaviour by some members (for instance posting more than 20 times a day, requiring from others that they be polite while there had be no insults except disparaging remarks by none other than themselves, not even trying to understand the replies of others, wanting to be the sole judge of what the rules are and how to respect them, ...) Moderators do not act lightly, but sometimes, after multiple public warnings and discussion between them, they do ban a member. The moderators toiling makes this forum an example of what such a tool can be. Some members are being granted the privilege of having a sub-forum on which they have administrator rights and therefore an added obligation to act in the spirit of the forum. As for the title of threads, one must have administrator rights to change them. One or more moderators like to make humorous alterations to thread titles, the owner of the forum has no problem with that and might even participate. Live with it or change forums. |

I see that many people write on their blogs about any topic that interests them, and this is not always necessarily mathematics. I do the same. My interests are project development trends, forecasting, forum and user psychology, common values.
I follow all the rules. I never insult anyone and I am pretty polite everywhere. Why is someone secretly breaking my blog? I believe that moderators should be an example of decency and objectivity. And they simply have to play by the rules and not show voluntarism and tyranny. Isn't it? Is disrespect a value in a forum like this? It seems to me that there is a banal bulling, which is completely unacceptable in a public open community like GIMPS forum, since it contradicts the principles of ethics and morality. You can ban me from the forum, but that won't change the situation. It will simply be a triumph of despotism and arbitrariness. |

The rules cannot be changed during the game.
You came to the bank, they gave you a loan on the first terms, and then raised the rate three times. It cannot work like that in a civilized society. This possible only among the savages. If they are guided not by the rules that they declare, but by subjective emotional judgments, or even worse by the color of your clothes or food preferences, then this is a gross violation of human rights. And there are subforums, for example, Data, where people make predictions about the timing of certain events in trends. My comments there in general are about this. In order not to litter with new topics there, I asked Xyzzy to create a blog for me. Since it is clearly written here - ask and we will do it. You will get all the rights to manage your blog. https://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=21907 I am not against humor and deeply appreciate really funny things. But why would someone distort the meaning of my post and block my access rights to my thread in my blog, which were promised and given to me by the creator of the forum. If I violated something - ban me from the forum. But just tell me what it is. But why am I being deprived of opportunities that were publicly promised and given at first? This is a little like moderation. This is more like tyranny, voluntarism and arbitrariness. Maybe it's time for someone to take a break from being a moderator? Or to limit his rights to create lawlessness here. Just wondering who this person is. He does it in secret. Last fiddled with by greenskull on 2021-11-02 at 10:27 |
