Window 10 Product Key

Discovered http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html through stumbleupon today. This seems to give me a product key for windows 10 even though I updated to windows 10 for free. Is this a valid way of getting a useable product key to reactivate with?

Of cause this is a bit pointless as I can reactivate on a new pc using the trobleshooting thing. Wouldn't surprise me if microsoft change the rules on that again though.

Yeah. I hear you.

I have personally purchased at least three laptops from Dell. They all came pre-installed with WinBlows. I powered them up to ensure the machine was working, and then inserted a Linux CD or DVD to format the harddrive to install an operating system I trusted.

Years later I purchased an iPod Mini for my girlfriend, and I find I can't configure it under Linux.

I configure it under a newly purchased instance of Windows 10, but still can't add music to the device under Linux (it complains about an unknown encryption key).

I tried to install a copy of WinBlows I PAID FOR from the original media in a virtual machine on my workstation, but that doesn't work either.

Sigh....

We've been running Windows 10 on our gaming computer for a few months without a key.

The only drawback is the system has a watermark on the lower right part of the desktop and some of the personalization options are disabled.

Another free utility that reads the Windows product key is Belarc Advisor (no affiliation).

Yes, upgrading to Windows 10, then writing down the key and using the the key for reinstalling Windows 10 from scratch works.
