I've finished running my script to prove 2^a-2^b-1 numbers prime. It proved 3961 numbers prime.
I also proved a few by hand. Some where N+1 needed algebraic factors adding. And a few numbers like 2^2909-2049 which the script didn't recognize. So I've done about 4000 in total. The remaining 2^a-2^b-1 numbers mostly can't be proved that way (I've not checked them all manually). Some might be provable by N-1 if N-1 has a large PRP cofactor that can be proved by certificate. A few thousand more PRPs like that have just appeared, ranging from 1000 to 2000+ digits. So I'll let my script loose again.

That run didn't do much. So I updated the script to add algebraic factors of N+1 before seeing if it could prove numbers prime. That has proved 280 numbers prime so far (I have one range missed because I hit 750 CPU seconds per hour still to do).
So let your certificates lose on the rest. Chris |

And another 8 proved prime in the last range.
I'll not do any more unless some more such numbers turn up. Chris |

Some more have turned up. I've re-run my script and proved 1127 numbers prime.
It appears that whoever is adding them is adding them in order of size so searching from the largest seen so far upwards will save time re-checking ones that can't be proved this way. I'll do that every few days until I stop finding new numbers. Chris |

And another 278 proved between 2410 and 2709 digits.

I´m back now. Just removed anything <700 digits. Now going up to 1300dd, roughly 500 numbers.
May take some time. I´ll extend later to 1500dd. |

Another 197 proved between 2700 and 3010 digits (plus a few done by hand).

I'll be back running Primo soon, but I will need to upgrade, too. Unfortunately, upgrading Primo will probably mean editing all my scripts that run it everywhere. |
