A better idea than RSA170: find a nice Cunningham Tables number and do a team effort on that one. There are LOTS of GNFS-suitable ~170-digit numbers around that have a special form, unlike RSA-170. Mo-one is interested in RSA numbers anymore, except RSA768.

Lots of people are interested in doing research on GNFS for eventual use on big numbers, but I think it's debatable whether any input to any factoring algorithm is 'interesting'.

I've found out that RSA-170 and RSA-768 are both now solved.

I’ve gotten a new message that there’s an update on somebody’s other RSA post at
http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=11603&goto=newpost , so it reminded me of this thread that I wanted to update.

Thank you, everybody for giving me help with GGNFS or telling me that it wouldn’t be practical to factor RSA numbers further.

I wanted to update you though. Since the last previous post here on April 16th, 2009, three people have now broken my record at http://www.alpertron.com.ar/ECM.HTM and
http://www.alpertron.com.ar/ECMREC.HTM . Also since that last previous post on this thread, RSA-170, RSA-180, and RSA-768 have been factored at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSA_factoring_challenge . Possibly later, I might keep a top 50 factor list and top 50 prime list of what people have discovered with http://www.alpertron.com.ar/ECM.HTM . In the meantime, I’m going to be working on more probable prime projects again at http://www.primenumbers.net/prptop/prptop.php , and projects with NewPGen and PRP.

Default I factored RSA-100

I had forgotten to mention that in 2015 that I had factored RSA-100 with the Applet:
https://www.alpertron.com.ar/ECM.HTM
It’s #10 at: https://www.alpertron.com.ar/ECMREC.HTM
RSA-100 defined at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSA_numbers#RSA-100
RSA-100 was the first factored in 1991: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSA_Factoring_Challenge

I have no future plans with RSA numbers & I don’t see this going anywhere else. Thanks for helping.

Thumbs up ECM Factoring Update or RSA Update for 2019

ECM Factoring Update or RSA Update for 2019:

It appears as though RSA-240 was factored on December 2 of this year:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSA_Factoring_Challenge
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSA_numbers#RSA-240
Nobody told me why RSA-232 seems to be skipped over.

I had forgotten to post since 2016 here that I've discovered factors that are now at
https://www.alpertron.com.ar/ECMREC.HTM

Don't take yourself too seriously if I forget to repost on this thread again.
