Two issues here-
Has anyone else seen their PrimeNet user id erased in their client software? What happened was that I upgraded my Windows machine with the new v25 software and I thought that I entered my ver5 PrimeNet ID. The software chugged along and finished one of the old PrimeNet v4 assignments, but I was surprised to see that the work was credited to the Anonymous user. Sure enough, I checked the menu File=>PrimeNet and the user ID was blank. I checked another of my machines on which I know I had entered the ID and it also has a blank user ID. I fixed it right away too. In each case, I didn't do the smart thing and check the Prime.txt file. Who knows- maybe this is all a coincidence. Second question- Does the PrimeNet password need to be in the prime.txt file? |

Thanks. Unfortunately, these were from the great Nov. 16th ANONYMOUS debacle. There are very rare reports of it happening since then, but I haven't been able to figure out what steps reproduce the problem.

I've had my userid blanked out before also. Maybe because of windows reinstall or playing with new hardware - was doing both at the same time. I don't think it's a good idea to allow p95 to blank out the userid when it detects a change in the system. Changing the PC's id is one thing, but it should always retain the username settings.
