Remember when Google Inc. "announced" on April 1st, 2004 that they will start an email service that would give you 1Gb of storage? April Fools joke right? I thought it was, but i was WRONG...

I did hear about it in the news some time ago, although I can't remember quite when.
But just today, Yahoo Mail upgraded its service! I now have 100Mb of space, up from 4Mb before! |

You can actually buy invites from Ebay for some time now. Also it's been in the newspaper how they plan to scan incoming emails to throw the right ads at you so they make money. If you want free 1GB email storage, without email ad scanners, go to http://www.spymac.com.

Apparently an invite is the only way to get into the beta stage of gmail. I read in the user agreement that google will give me a few invitations in a day or so. I'll invite a few users of mersenneforum.org. Anyone interested?

E-Tron, if you have an invite you'd want to give out, I would be interested in seeing just how google mail works. It isn't that urgent--I don't mind waiting around, but it would be cool to eventually get an invite if someone has an extra one. And as my yahoo mail account has been unbearably slow since the upgrade (and my msn.com account is both small and gets an infinite amount of spam), now might be a good time for me to try out google.

If you get some invitations and have some left I would be certainly interested
![]() But if not I just be patient and wait for the official launch. Koekie |
