That's it. After a great match, Argentina beat France in the penalties and is the new world champion.
France came back twice, 2:2 in fulltime after 0:2, 3:3 in the prolongation after 2:3, but in the end Argentina was luckier.

Very weird game where France didn't have much the first 75 min and then suddenly came back while Argentina was suddenly very nervous. Psychology seems to play an even larger role in football (and probably most sports) than is generally attributed.

Personally I'm glad that Argentina won since most of the players in France already won last time in 2018, and I feel like Messi deserves this, he is more likable and seems to be a better person than his "GOAT"-rival Ronaldo (though we can never really know from the outside).
Mbappé got a World Cup final "hat trick" and the tournament top scorer title (Golden Boot) as a "consolation prize", and Messi got the "Silver Boot".
