Is adding info to wortodo while Prime95 is running a problem?

If Prime95 is running and I add work to the end of the worktodo, do I need to restart Prime95 to get it to notice those extra lines?

It could be a problem. What I do is add the work and then choose Test/Status to make sure prime95 has reread the worktodo file properly.

I now use one core of one machine for all my P-1 factoring. I copy the lines from the other prime95 instances I am running to that particular worktodo.ini file, modify the original worktodo.ini file to set P-1 as done (changing the last parameter from 0 to 1.) Doing this on the fly works perfectly.

I suppose that it is only when the line from the worktodo.ini is being worked on that one must stop prime95, edit the worktodo.ini and restart prime95.

Of course always using that last approach is safer.

I have also successfully done this:

1.) While P95 is still running, add one or more lines to worktodo.ini, save the file and close it.
2.) right-click on the Prime95 icon in the taskbar and click stop. The icon will turn yellow.
3.) right-click on the icon and click continue.

So you will only lose 2-5 seconds of processor time instead of half a minute. (and I should maybe copy this into the "you might be addicted to Gimps"-Thread... )

P.S.: Click Test - Status anyway to make sure that P95 has properly re-read the worktodo.ini.
