Logout function claims a random account will be deleted?
When I try to logout from the forum, I get the following message:
"Are you sure you want to delete a random account and then log out?" I am currently assuming that is a joke; but want to make sure. |

Yeah, it is a joke, because the account that is deleted isn't random at all. It's only pseudo-random.
Don't believe everything you read. |

It deletes either the newest user account or the account that hasn't seen any activity in the longest time.
Or was it the account with the IP that most correlates to the current time stamp? Or was it the account whose country is the country of the day on Wikipedia? Or was it the account with the lowest vowel to consonant ratio? Or was it the account of the most recent user to be banned? It has to be one of these. Or it might be your account. The Mersenne Forum is like the Hotel California. |

It might also add bias to the PRNG to favour selection of the account with the lowest coefficient of humour, or the highest gullibility rating, or both.

The real funny aspect of this -- is how few people report it!
Why? Because nobody ever logs out. They close the tab or whatever. |
