I was just suggesting stats that I saw around the Web, not asking for them!

Each more bit of information is appreciated. For the not-so-easy tasks, one month's time sounds better than weekly updates to me (I didn't even think about it)

Just remember that it's for fun, don't use too much of your spare time on this.

I spent some of today throwing together some rough stats:
http://mersenne-aries.sili.net

It has stats from my two P-1 computers since May 2004, so you can get some idea of how it's supposed to look. Feel free to dump in your own results.txt (it ignores anything but P-1 stuff) and see how it chews on your stats, and let me know how you think it could be improved.

James,

It choked on some of my P-1 lines as not recognized.

If you log the requests, you may be able to see it. It not I can PM the file and the resultant window.

@Uncwilly:
Yes, I did log the lines it choked on, which ended up being pretty much all of them it seems

The problem was all my log lines ended with "WZ1: ????????", but yours ended with "WX1: ????????" (or "WY1: ????????" on the LL tests). I see now that it's a version number of some sort I don't really understand, so I'm just accepting the whole thing rather than trying to parse it.

I've modified it so it doesn't choke on any of the lines it did before, so please give it another shot :)

If you all want we could have custom forum titles for people who do a certain amount of "special missions"...

Just a thought!

That's NICE!

Which background/system/language did you use?

I put my results.txt in and it says I found 2 factors but neither of those are from P-1. Is this desired behaviour? I've only P-1 factored one exponent without finding a factor.

No, it wasn't, but I now report those factors as "trial factoring" factors, seperate from Stage 1 / Stage 2 P-1 factors. I can also easily exclude them from the stats if I want to.

I've made some modifications to the parsing engine and the display code (B1/B2 sizes, view details by exponent). Everyone is invited to re-submit their results.txt to see if you can get it to choke on anything :)
