OK. And this is your (and other's) feedback to me based on your interpretations. And I take it seriously.

I don't deal with "snowflakes" well. Along the same lines, I don't expect to be treated easily. If I've made a mistake, I want to know about it.

I *know*, empirically, that I can often be profoundly stupid. And I welcome the negative criticism, even if it isn't easy to hear. It helps me be better.

Namaste.

Maybe as some general input, I think it is always helpful to think why somebody is writing something and additionally the question what this person might be trying to accomplish.

If you have some assumed answers to this (what he wants to accomplish), you can ask "Why are you trying to accomplish xyz?" And then you might even say "If you want to explore an answer to the topic xyz, I think this is trivial because of...". This way, you can at least show the OP why you think his question is good/bad etc. And if you understood something wrong (and since of course everyone can phrase something wrong it is surely not every time a matters of yours), there is a valid opportunity of getting to understand each other better.

If you think someone is bad or stupid or whatever negatively connotated, the first question should always be: What might be the reasons for this? What is the person's situation?

Lastly, if you're still about to say "this question is stupid", you should at least think about if this question might be trivial/stupid to everyone and a clear reason why it might be stupid, and then write it down.

I'm trying to think in both directions here. I won't oppose someone saying there are some unnecessary discussions in this forum, maybe even started by myself. But saying something is dumb/stupid/etc. is nothing I'd say casually and without detailed explanation. Share your reasoning (plus maybe your thought process) and I'm sure the majority will be open to discuss the matter.

A fair point.

Sometimes nomenclature is important. Only last night during a (friendly) argument did my partner and I come to convergence that the V and P words were out of bounds, but "v-junk" and "p-junk" were barely acceptable.

Seriously. I don't fully understand why my WMBO tolerates me.

It's always the "is it necessary" part that knocks me out of the saddle.

This post is a perfect example!

Unfortunately, there are people who think something like this:
  • Of course it's true. Even if it wasn't true before, if I say it, it becomes true.
  • Of course it's helpful. If everybody simply bowed to my wisdom, the world would be perfect.
  • Of course it's inspiring. Everything I say is inspiring.
  • Of course it's necessary. Everything I say is necessary.
  • Of course it's kind. I could say much worse things.

At the risk of offending a snowflakebird. This sounds like something from "The Prince".

Also sounds like a 45.
