We have been experimenting with the logistics of sending more than one button. If you put them in the envelope loose they scratch and ding each other up.
We have a solution but It involves duct tape so the Troll children refuse to participate. We hope to send out the first batch of ten packages in the next day or so. We may wait to see if they arrive in good condition before dispatching the next set. ![]() |

The first batch went out today.
The USA postage rates are pretty close to what they were the last time, but the international rates have quadrupled. We need some time to figure out a solution to this. The only idea we have now is to package up a continent's worth of buttons and mail them to someone on that continent to distribute. (We would provide the $ for this, and the individual buttons would be packaged ready-to-ship.) Anyways, progress is being made! ![]() |

I would like to suggest that the Mersenneforum pay for the costs of packaging and postage. I am sure I am not alone in being willing to contribute for this!

We are sure plenty of people would donate towards that, but it seems wasteful (?) to spend $13+ for a small package.
There has to be a more cost-effective way to accomplish this goal. One way the post office is making more money is they raised the weight limit for the package size even though most packages that size are very light. So they say they are making a deal when they know that very few packages will push that boundary. On the domestic packages they now include tracking numbers "for free" but the postage now costs about 50ยข more. We would never buy a tracking number for small packages like these. So they are throwing in "free" stuff that isn't needed or used to justify higher postage fees. ![]() |

This bothers me.
I spoke to this issue some time ago in a related thread, but I don't recall any furthering of the conversation. The postal rates in this country of Australia have increased significantly this year, alongside a diminished level of service. I habitually purchase small items via ebay from the China region with negligible postage, often stated as free. How this is possible remains a mystery to me; it just is. It is cheaper for me to purchase a small item from Shenzhen, as I often do, delivered to my door, than to have it ordered and delivered from across the road. There is usually a 2 to 3 week transit time needed. Where is the fabrication facility? Is there any possibility of a fab together with a China region vendor that can process tiny orders with similar negligible delivery costs? |

We could act as distributor for the Asia, hehe.
In spite of the fact that Thai post (EMS) is not cheap, we think there are not many willing to get a button, in our neighboring area... (from the list it seems that there are none... ![]() |

We have a volunteer to handle Europe. We only have one package going to Asia so we will take care of that. We are looking for a volunteer for Australia.
