I'll definite wait for the release of Intel Ark Alchemist GPUs before I buy the next PC. 1 more major competitor can dramatically change the tech market. Whichever the sales price of 1 Nvidia Geforce 3080 Ti or 1 AMD Radeon 6900 XT today, I may be able to get both with the same total price several months later.

You consistently declare your intentions to wait months before you buy. Why do you keep reminding us?
Do you think we're not smart enough to remember your viewpoint? That we'll think you really mean it if you say it ten times instead of twice? |

However I never got the feedbacks about the pros and cons of the Geforce 4000 series(Q4 2022) which has the 5nm structure. Once I totally make up my mind, I won't ask anymore. Sorry, I'm the 1 that is not smart enough to figure out which computer will be good enough to bring those exponents up to the desired TF bits and P-1 bounds - https://www.mersenne.org/report_expo...1287000&full=1. It'll be the best if the highest TF level can be finished within 1 full day. Last fiddled with by tuckerkao on 2021-11-09 at 01:09 |

Any computer with a bit of RAM can do the TF and P-1 that you want. Who cares if it takes 1 day or 3? There is no such thing as "fast enough". That measurement is about the user, not the machine. Claiming you "need" a specific speed to do work is a really weird way to be impatient, when you can do the work *now*.
You can get them done now, or wait a year to do them a little bit faster. Hint: they get done sooner if you do them now, on whatever hardware you have. A budget GPU does a whole lot more work than "I'm waiting until I won't have any regrets." That time never comes. |

I bought my current PC from CyberPowerPC in year 2013, so I know they are a trustworthy company. The 2 links below are the 2 PC models I prefer the most at the moment, but I need the opinions of other users.

Most users have probably already knew the Mersenne projects I target to complete. With Intel 12900K, 1 M168M PRP will be finished within 6~7 days. I don't know whether Windows 11 will slow it down or not. Suppose I get a Geforce 3070 Ti 16GB(Release Date: Jan 11, 2022), that will be ideal for most of the strategic video games that my friends play too while not spending too much. Of course, the trial factoring speed will be around 3100 GHz/Day.
