Like Anonymous said the "Factoring limits" page is on the V5 server, to be more precise it is at the page http://v5www.mersenne.org/report_factoring_effort/

Got it.

Then I have another question:

I can't find the exponent I want to test on that page (I input the proper range, but not all
primes in that range show up after click "get data")

can I use the factoring bit of the most nearby exponent for my exponent?

Have you checked http://v5www.mersenne.org/report_factors/ to see if the Mersenne number has a known factor

You do not have to input a range, if you just put the exponnent you want to test as the low limit for your range and nothing in the high limit and leave the "How far factored range" at 0-999 you should get the figures for that exponent.

If your number does not show up there are two possibilities : it has been factored already which you can verify using the link George gave in the previous post or ... the exponent is not prime and the corresponding Mersenne number can not be prime. In either case an LL test is unnecessary !

Here is my new problem.

I added a exponent for test into worktodo.ini
Test=57xxxxxx,69,1

and repeatedly get following error message like below

[Wed May 28 19:47:05 2008 - ver 24.14]
Sending result to server for exponent 57xxxxxx
ERROR 3: Server database crashed or exponent not assigned to this computer.

How can I let primenet know that I'm working on this exponent now
and will get the credit as it's done?

Thanks

You won't get primenet credit if primenet did not give you the assignment. You can still turn it in, the result will be noted, but you won't get credit.

You can email the exponent to me and I will add it to the server
