My wife just took one of our cats to his "last vet visit". I couldn't go due to work. This is never easy.

To resonate a bit... Late last year Crix ("Crixxy Girl") was taken for her last visit. I said goodbye over Skype (in tears), while a machine was breathing for me.

I just saw your photo of No Cat Zone on Silly Pictures thread. Nice and comfy laying in a corner. Sometimes, I believe they can read minds. They always seem to go where we would rather they not go.

Re "NO CAT ZONE" pic: I think I can read the cat's mind: "My house, my rules."

I do recall that our paternal grandmother ("Nana") had something of an aversion to cats. She wasn't allergic IIRC, they just made her nervous. And, sure enough! When she visited, our pet cat Sami (Samisen) would practically make a beeline for her and start rubbing against her ankles. My mom remarked on cats' proclivity to go to people who didn't like cats...

A family member once worked a remote location with a high power radio transmitter. The local cat accidentally got closed up in on of the cabinets. A few days later, the cabinet was opened and the cat was worse for it, but alive. The cat got named Zap.

Cats are amazing animals. And, indeed... They seem to be able to read our minds and immediately go /exactly/ where we don't want them to. 8^)
