Ooops. I've just seen that moving the mouse on top of Prime95 icon shows the current curve !

Let's hope that F14 isn't a semiprime whose factors are on the same order of magnitude (a la RSA). :P

The probability that a number of the magnitude of F14 (4933 digits) has only two factors is small and that both have about same size is very small.

I did 400 curves on F14 last year (on 4 P4 and Xeon computers at work, 100 curves each) with B1=44000000 and I never thought about reporting them ... a lot of work down the drain since I didn't save the results.txt to prove it

ECM curve counts are on the honor system, results.txt is not required. I'm adding your curves now.

Thank you! I am positive I did those curves, in fact it was more than that but the second run got interrupted so I prefer to report 400 to stay on the safe side. :)

Did you check if there were any factors in the results.txt file before they were lost?

I might be messy but not quite like that
There weren't any factors.

Default 11000000 and then 44000000

Oooops. I think I misunderstood your explainations.
You did not mean: 11M 12M 13M ... 44M ?!
You meant: 11M 11M ... and then run curves with B1=44000000 . Right ?

I put:
ECM2=1,2,16384,1,12000000,0,100,0,0
ECM2=1,2,16384,1,13000000,0,100,0,0
in the worktodo file.
What is the consequence ?

I got:
2^16384+1 completed 100 ECM curves, B1=12000000, B2=1200000000

And why 11000000 and 44000000 ? and not 22000000 ?

B1=11000000 should maximize the chances of finding a possible 45-digit factor, and B1=44000000 should maximize the chances of finding a possible 50-digit factor. That is why the bounds are set up the way they are on http://www.mersenne.org/ecmf.htm . Please report your curves to George anyway, because he may be able to credit them as equivalent to maybe 105 or 110 curves at B1=11000000.

I noticed over the weekend that a substantial number of curves were added for F14 at B1=44000000, 918 curves or so. Who ran these? Nice work! Were they run on Prime95, GMP-ECM, or a combination of the two?

That was me. It was a combination of Prime95 for stage 1 and GMP-ECM for stage 2.
